Jeff Melanson
Founder & CEO
Jeff Melanson is a Canadian business executive who has worked for the past 20 years leading and growing organizations through massive change and expansion, both in the creative industries and the public sector.

Lauded internationally for his creative entrepreneurship approach to leadership, Jeff has an unmatched ability to see opportunity for organizations that others miss. With his proven methods for finding hidden talent and opportunity within an organization to out-of-the-box strategic and financial growth opportunities for organizations, Jeff has led The Royal Conservatory of Music (Dean), Canada’s National Ballet School (Co-CEO), The Banff Centre (President), and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (President and CEO) through strategic change and on to tremendous organizational growth.

Through these positions, Jeff has developed the ability to not only demonstrate how creative leadership can transform any organization, he has a proven track record for finding the dynamic growth potential that traditional business practice overlooks. He has transformed struggling organizations into success stories and industry leaders. Using fresh methods, Jeff offers businesses a completely new perspective on their organizational structure, strategic planning, growth opportunities, infrastructure visioning, funding and fundraising, income diversification, business development; and employee/team listening and engagement.

Jeff holds an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University. He is also a frequent guest panelist and lecturer on business management, creative economies, city building, and creative entrepreneurship across North America and around the world. He was the first arts leader to be appointed one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40™ for 2009, and in 2010, Jeff was named Wilfrid Laurier University’s MBA Alumnus of the Year. In November 2010, he was appointed special advisor on arts and culture to the mayor of Toronto.

Head of Product & Design
Andrew started his career in entrepreneurship at the age of 14 where he became the VP of Electrolee Products Inc., leading the development of a new division which still operates out of Waterloo.  While studying at Wilfrid Laurier, he became Director of Business Development at Recruit My Friends - a referral based technical recruiting company that specializes in working with software startups specifically scaling their engineering teams.  During his time at RMF, he worked with over 300 software startups in Toronto and San Francisco. Andrew also spent 1.5 years as a Business Development Consultant at e-ternity Business Continuity Consultants - a cloud based solutions company. Most recently, Andrew co-founded Squado Inc. where he leads product vision, design, and development.  

He is a self-taught developer, and is fluent in Ruby, Rails, React Native, Javascript, HTML, & CSS.  Fun fact: he has a deep passion for the preforming arts and is a professional actor under the alias name Andrew Lichti-Lee and has appeared in network TV shows and feature films: IMDB: Andrew Lichti-Lee

At Quaver, Andrew will be leading Product Development, Recruiting, as well as Sales strategy.

Caroline Drury toured and recorded as a jazz vocalist with the ensemble “The Peters Drury Trio” from 1999-2005, and with that group sold approximately 34,000 copies of her albums worldwide.

In 2006, she fell in love with classical music and refocused her musical interests. Caroline completed her diploma in Voice Performance at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, her B.Mus in Opera Performance at the University of British Columbia, and her M.Mus at the University of Manitoba studying with renowned Canadian sopranos Tracy Dahl and Monica Huisman.

Having always been fascinated with the business and marketing side of the music industry, Caroline has worked at the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra as their Social Media & PR Associate, as well as Personal Assistant to Maestro Bramwell Tovey; and Manager of Social Media for the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.

Caroline further built her social and digital media career as Digital Specialist for one of Canada’s leading universities, York University in Toronto.

Caroline continues to build a unique career that suits her individual strengths, interests, perspectives, and curiosities both as a classical singer, jazz vocalist, and a digital marketing specialist.

Customer Success
Mary Lou Miller is extremely excited to join the Quaver team, with the opportunity to utilize two of her passion’s customer care and music for the Customer Success Team. She is a veteran of award winning customer relationship management, with over 20 years’ experience in the field. Responsible for the development of two separate successful customer care departments. Her ability to develop creative solutions to concerns and nurture lasting and meaningful customer relationships are two of her biggest focuses.

Educated at Conestoga College with an Honours in Human Resources Management and Adult Education. Mary Lou was contracted by the college to represent their customer relations program for the Part Time and Continuing Ed and the Corporate Training Department for 20 years; her primary focus in teaching was customer relationship management, gaining consistent positive student feedback through her efforts. Conveying corporate training solutions for such varied companies as Wirecomm System, Fergus District School Board, Hunter Steel and Conestoga Cold Storage to name a few.

Other areas of business proficiency include business development, digital media and marketing, with 3 years’ experience in the role of small business owner. She understands the need for small business owners to connect with other like professionals in their industry, internal administration streamlining and the ability to quickly and easily promote your business, all of which Quaver can streamline for the music teacher.

Interests outside of her career include music, attended flute lessons for three years as a young woman. Musical tastes are varied and include most styles. You will find her passionately following artists attending symphonies, operas, music festivals and live performances. Especially near and dear to her heart is supporting artists that are just starting out; with many local favourites.

As a dedicated lifelong learner, Mary Lou loves adventure and recently embarked on a cross country road trip from her hometown in Ontario to Tofino BC with a return trip through the US.
